Looking for a permanent yard or deck shelter to replace those cheap canopy yard swings?   Would you rather use a strong frame than those thin-walled, rusting metal frames?   A frame which doesn't collapse?   Repainting those paper thin tubes doesn't do any good because all metal frames rust from the inside out.   They were already rusting through from condensation inside before you even bought one.   And, sooner or later, the only thing that will be holding it up, if you repaint it, will be a coat of paint.

A swing shelter is an alternative to building a porch roof or buying a flimsy cheap gazebo, and is a simple weekend project.   You will have a permanent yard, garden or deck shelter.   Here are a few suggestions on placement and construction, and you can also use these shelters to help protect benches from direct weather.
